Thrust ball bearing consists of shaft washer, housing washer, steel balls and cage. The ring matched with shaft is called shaft washer, the ring matched with housing is called housing washer.

The double-direction thrust ball bearing, the middle ring matches with shaft.

The single-direction thrust ball bearing can carry axial load in single direction, the double-direction thrust ball bearing can carry axial load in double direction. (both of them can not carry carry radial load).

If the housing washer's installation surface is spherical, then the bearing can be aligned by itself and reduce influence of installation deviation.

The thrust ball bearing is separable bearing.

Struction type  

1.Single-direction thrust ball bearing 51000 type

This type bearing can only bear the axial load in one direction, can limit the axial displacement of shaft and housing in one direction.

2.Angular cantact ball thrust bearing 560000type

The angular cantact ball thrust bearing use cage, this structure can bear axial load, and some raidal load.

The application of thrust ball bearing

This kind of bearing can bear axial load in one direction, used in the parts with low speed. for example, lifting hook of crane, vertical water pump, vertical centrifugal machine, jack, reducer with low speed and so on.

The axial ring, base ring and roller are seperable, can install and dismout indepently.

Thrust ball bearing installation

The assembly of thrust ball bearing, one aspect, control the quality of cage and steel balls, the other aspect, control the norninal T after the installaion of bearing. In addition, the ring and washer can be separable. M type stamping cage use bent assemble mould. After pressing, the steel balls should be flexible in the hole, but which can not fall from the hole. If the cage press deeply, the steel balls will be feel tighten, the strength will be not enough because the connection of raised part and cage is little, the parts falling phenomenon will be appear, the cage will be broken. For the ring washer and housing washer of small thrust ball bearing, the difference of inner diameter is small. The two washers have no distinct difference. In order to avoid confusion phenomenon, when matching, use assist frock to distinguish,

When the thrust ball bearing is at the high speed, the contact angle of steel ball and raceway will be effected by centrifugal force. Thus cause the slide between the steel ball and raceway. This slide will damage the bearings. In order to avoid this damage, ensure the min. load of thrust ball bearing as followed formula 1 and formula 2, take the bigger value.

The single-direction thrust ball can bear the load in one direction. If need bear the load in two directions, adopt double-direction thrust ball bearing. The thrust ball bearing must give smallest load or pre-load. When the shaft is vertical, the weight of the shaft is exceed the Min. load. At this moment, the shaft (in the negative direction) load outwards, the load of this function will be reduce.
